4/22/2024 UPDATE

Registration is now open for the 2024 Tour of the Rio Grande Bicycle Century.

Registration for single riders and tandems is $47 until April 30th, $57 May 1st - Sept 22nd, and $67 Sept 23rd - 29th.

There are a few route changes for 2024.

  • 80mi and 100mi riders will continue up NM-116 / N Main St in Belen and not take NM-109 North. We found this change to be less of a headache with the trains periodically stopping on NM-109

  • Rest Stop 1 is moving from the Los Lunas Transportation Center parking lot to The Badlands Drive In at the corner of NM-314 and Morris Rd. This location is right off of NM-314 and will be easier for riders to see and access.

  • As of now it doesn’t look like the paving of Isleta Blvd below Rio Bravo will impact the ride. We will keep everyone up-to-date on this as it happens. We are in contact with the road manager on a regular basis.

  • Last year a rider went into the Isleta Pueblo. This is a big no no. The Pueblo allows for the ride to travel on NM-314 only. Please respect their privacy and their land.

We hope to see you back in 2024. And we look forward to meeting anyone new interested in taking part in the 2024 Tour of the Rio Grande Bicycle Century. Keep on riding!

Sincerely,
Michael O. Wieclaw

We are proud to promote our cycling friends Slow Roll 505. That’s right, if you didn’t know Albuquerque has its own slow roll event, which started with a successful 2019 season. From what we know, they will be returning in 2023. Stay tuned.

It helps to have the praise of our community partner BikeABQ. BikeABQ is a nonprofit organization that engages cyclists through advocacy, education and outreach throughout the city. You’ve seen their advocacy in each of our towns: bike lane striping, bike route and share-the-road signs, permanent bike racks . . . plus Street Skills classes, Safe Routes to Schools programs, Bike-to-Work-Month programs, Bike Valets, BikeSwaps, and more. BikeABQ brings together the diverse bicycling community in a united mission to improve the cycling environment and quality of life for the greater Albuquerque.

Kidical Mass ABQ is a group of cycling enthusiasts of all ages who aim to help cyclists feel more comfortable and safe riding on city streets and using bicycles for transportation, make cycling safer in Albuquerque, and get younger riders out riding! They organize family friendly rides all year long and take part in a Kidical Mass Global Action Day annually in September.
